Specialist provider
I am an experienced specialist trauma clinician and a long-standing member of the UK Psychological Trauma Society (UKPTS).
The psychological impact of injury
Many people suffer from a range of reactions following a trauma, whether this be a road traffic accident or work accident. Although some people cope well others may experience difficulties including Acute Stress Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment Disorders, Anxiety, Depression or a Specific Phobia, such as travel anxiety. In addition, chronic pain can all too often occur.
Effective psychological therapy
A combination of thorough assessment, an experienced and empathic approach combined with the NICE recommended approaches of EMDR and CBT, assists clients to process their experiences and come to terms with changes in their lives. In addition, the psychological aspects of pain management can be addressed. These therapeutic interventions then allow clients to successfully move on with their lives.
Referrals
Since 2008, I have assisted many clients to recover from the psychological trauma associated with accidents or incidents that have occurred in a variety of settings.
I accept referrals from:
- Rehabilitation companies
- Personal injury solicitors
- Insurance companies
Referrers are welcome to contact me.

“Professional yet friendly support”
“I went to see Emily at Riverside Psychology Service following a serious car accident as I was struggling with driving anxiety. During the sessions that I attended, Emily helped me to understand my feelings, gave me strategies to deal with the heightened emotions I was experiencing and supported me in regaining my confidence on the road. I am hugely grateful to her for all that she has done for me and would definitely recommend this service to others.”
