Professional Status
- I am an HCPC registered psychologist and adhere to their code of ethics.
- I maintain professional indemnity insurance.
- As expected of a registered psychologist, I regularly participate in clinical supervision. The client remains confidential in these discussions.
- I work face to face, online or by telephone. Clients are only permitted to record sessions with permission and any recordings are for personal therapeutic use only.
What client information do I hold?
- Contact information, D.O.B, GP contact details, information shared during therapy and information provided by third parties e.g. medical records.
How the client information will be used?
- To provide a therapeutic service.
- To contact the client regarding therapy, for example scheduling appointments.
- To liaise with any referring organisation.
- I do not share details with third parties who are not directly involved in the client’s care.
With whom do I share information?
- Sessions are confidential unless there is a risk of harm to the client, someone else or a court order.
- If I have serious concerns about a client’s welfare, I will share information with the GP or relevant service. I endevour to try to discuss this with the client first.
- Third party referrals – rehabilitation companies, insurance companies or solicitors – information will be shared as agreed prior to therapy.
How long do I keep client information?
- Adults – In line with nation guidance, I will hold information for 8 years since the last therapeutic contact.
- Minors – Until they reach 25 years of age.
Fees
- Therapy sessions are charged at £100/hour.
- Extended sessions, if required, are charged pro rata.
- Payment by BACS, cash or cheque payable on the day of the session.
- I invoice insurance companies directly. Some insurance policies will have an excess that is paid by the client.
Cancellations
- I request 24 hours notice of cancellations to enable others to make use of the session. Late cancellations and DNAs are charged at the session rate.
GDPR
- Information is kept securely in line with GDPR requirements.
Governing law and jurisdiction
- The contract, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with English law, and the parties irrespective irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
